The next morning Daphne awoke in the woods completely naked, she had no memory how she got there, last thing she remembered was joking with Fred in the living room of the lodge and then making a sandwich and going back to the bedroom while Fred checked his emails, everything else was blank. She wandered the woods to see if she could get her bearings as to how far she was from the lodge, then she smelled it…. bacon, and she followed the scent to find herself behind the diner. She covered herself with a tarp and knocked on the back door, it opened to reveal Kat who somehow didn’t seem surprised to see Daphne, she brought the frightened girl in and shut the door.
Back at the lodge, Velma had arrived and began discussing the events of the previous night with Fred, who still seemed to be in denial about what he had witnessed. “No, Fred, you’re not dreaming what happened last night, I looked at the claw marks in the door and the prints in the ground outside, they are that of a large wolf”. Fred just shook his head “I just never thought such a thing existed, we have chased so many weirdo’s and nut jobs in costumes throughout the years, that I never once expected that we would find that such creatures actually exist, let alone that one of us would become one”. Velma responded “Well, we now have evidence that they do, I spoke with a specialist in the matter, an actual Werewolf hunter. He says that since this is Daphne’s first transformation, that we still have time to free her, but as soon as she changes again and actually kills or infects someone else, she is lost forever”.  Fred grabbed his coat “Let’s go try the library again, see if it is open, if not, we will break in and get some more answers”. Velma followed, “What about this waitress you two spoke with the night you arrived?” Fred nodded “Oh don’t worry, we are defiantly having a talk with her, and the sheriff, I want to confirm that the report about the wolf that attacked Daphne ever got filed by the doctor”.
Once in town, Fred and Velma found that everything was closed, the diner, the library and sheriff’s office, all closed. “How can the whole town be closed?” Velma asked “Especially the Sheriff’s office, something doesn’t add up here”. Fred nodded “I want to know where Daphne is, she had to of changed back to “normal” at daybreak, where is she?”. Velma kept tapping on her laptop “I am thinking that this whole town is somehow connected to the McKracken werewolf clan, either by blood, or they are descendants of other victims. Let’s go back to the lodge, I can call my sister and have her do some more digging at the bookstore and have my dad do some digging with his government connections”. Fred nodded and they drove off back to the lodge.
In the diner, Kat and Daphne watch the Mystery Machine drive away, and Daphne turns to Kat “You were right, they are trying to find me and take me away from the pack”. The sheriff comes out from the back room “We need to deal with these two, we can’t have them expose us, this clan has survived for over a hundred years and we won’t let another group of outsiders destroy us”. Kat placed her hand on Daphne’s shoulder “You belong with us now, you know what needs to be done”. Daphne nodded “Yes, I will go the lodge tonight and turn Velma, she will make a great addition to the pack”. The sheriff interrupted “And your friend, Fred, what of him?” Daphne’s eyes began to glow red, and with a snarl she growled “I will KILL him”.
